The Viking season is a time of contrasts and colors. Autumn in the fjords is a beautiful time to hike, until winter comes around and it is time to strap on a pair of skis or snowshoes. Spring is perhaps the best time for a fjord cruise or safari, when you can spot budding birch trees against the dark blue hues of the fjord and the snow-capped mountains. 
The autumn darkness or winter cold is no obstacle to experiencing Geiranger as a tourist.
This is a magical time in the fjords, which can be combined with exciting autumn and winter activities, both outdoors and indoors. It’s important to make the most of the few hours of daylight before you pop past an exciting art exhibition or curl up in front of a roaring fire.
